William Martys Obituary, Death- On April 12, 2023, at about 7:35 p.m., deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to a home in the 40700 block of North Black Oak Avenue in Unincorporated Antioch in response to a complaint of a male who was unresponsive and lying in a driveway. The individual had been reported as being in the driveway.
Even before the sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene, the Antioch paramedics had already arrived and were actively attempting to save the patient’s life. The individual, who was finally determined to be William Martys, age 59, who resided at the same residence, was carried to the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was eventually declared dead shortly after arriving at that facility. William Martys resided at the same property.
During the course of the supplementary investigation, it was discovered that Martys had been shot in the head, which caused him to sustain a wound to his head. On the 13th of April in 2023, the Lake County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy on the victim who had passed away as a result of the incident. According to the findings of the autopsy, Martys died as a direct result of a head wound that was caused by a bullet. This conclusion was reached after examining Martys’s body.
At this point in time, the death is being examined as a possible act of homicide. This determination is being made on the basis of the information that has been obtained up to this point in time. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake County Major Crime Task Force are continuing their investigations into the incident. Both of these agencies are responsible for carrying out the investigations.
