Shirley Scott Obituary, Shirley Scott Has Passed Away – Death Cause

Shirley Scott Obituary, Death – Shirley Elizabeth Scott, age 74, of Urbana, Illinois, died away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Mercy Health – Urbana Hospital. She was a much-loved educator, mentor, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born on February 24, 1948, to Carleton Scott and Esther (Maurice) Scott, who have now passed away. Since Shirley was the eldest of her six siblings, she had a head start on her teaching career during her formative years when she was still young. Carolyn Leporini of Martinsburg, West Virginia; Connie (Dennis) Plank of Humboldt, Tennessee; Barbara (Michael) Sell of Urbana; Beverly (Daniel) Rambo of Oxford; and Timothy (Amber) Scott of Ft. Smith, Arkansas are her surviving siblings.

She was a loving aunt, and she is survived by her nieces and nephews, including Joseph (Iliana) Leporini and Christopher (Tiffany) Leporini, all of Oro Valley, Arizona; and Christopher (Tiffany) Leporini and Joseph Leporini, of Northbrook, Illinois; and Joseph Leporini. Shawn (Lindsey) Sell of Cincinnati, Mississippi; Jason (Becky) Plank of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Esther (David) Bledsoe of Hernando, Mississippi; Grace Rambo of Cincinnati, Joshua (Christina) Sell of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Kelly (Joseph) Devaney of Concord, North Carolina, Chelsea Rambo (Matthew Leuthold) of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Joshua (Christina) Sell of Rapid City, North Carolina.

Shirley’s great-nieces and great-nephews, including Scott, Kaelin, Marco, Leonardo, Ally, Jarrett, Grayson, Finnley, Elizabeth, Keegan, and Olivia, were all impacted by her presence in their lives. In addition, Shirley is survived by her uncles Richard Scott, Ernest Scott, and Gail (Joyce) Scott, in addition to an innumerable amount of cousins who are too many to name individually. Shirley is remembered not just by her immediate family, but also by her close friends Jane Sidders, Ingrid and Hubert Klimke and their family, Becky Halterman, carer Danielle Lowman, and an extended family consisting of the more than 12,000 pupils she had a positive influence on during her outstanding teaching career. Her parents and her brother-in-law Paul Leporini passed away before her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
