Robertson Charles Obituary, Death – Robertson Charles, 87, passed away on March 27, 2023 at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater, New Brunswick, and his family is devastated by the news. After finishing his studies in France, Don started working for Michelin in Granton, Nova Scotia, in 1971. He placed a high value on his connections to family, friends, and the community. While living in New Glasgow, he and his boys were very involved in the local Boy Scout troop. His considerable volunteer efforts helped both the Gyro Club and Trinity United Church.
Joyce and Don settled in Bridgewater in 2005. He kept up his golfing, curling, and making new acquaintances. The weekly visits to South Shore Regional Hospital with his beloved Scottie dog “Bridget,” who was a St. John Ambulance Therapy dog, were Don’s favorite volunteer activity. In Don’s dying days, the family took solace in remembering their visits with him. One of my favorite volunteer activities was driving the Senior Wheels bus in Bridgewater. Don’s family includes his adoring wife of 63 years, Joyce; sons Donald “Donnie” (Melinda) and Scott (Patti); grandsons Nicholas (Samantha), Brett (Cali).
Leah (Michael), and Andrew (Josie); great-granddaughter Nevaeh; brother Betty (Bob) Hatcher. Stella (Simpson) and Wilbert Robertson, of Hamilton, Ontario, raised him until they passed away. On Sunday, April 8, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, “Reflections of Don” will be presented at the Best Western Hotel in Bridgewater as part of a Celebration of Life. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society or the St. John Ambulance Dog Therapy Program, both located in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
