Peter Sinnott Obituary, Rye, New York, Lifelong Native Has Sadly Passed Away

Peter Sinnott Obituary, Death – On January 7, 2019, at the age of 53, Peter Henry Sinnott passed away after a courageous but brief fight against cancer. Peter Sinnott was born on January 27, 1965, at Nyack Hospital to Christine and Peter Sinnott, both of whom had passed away at the time of Peter’s birth.

Before being sent to North Carolina by his employer Acosta, he had lived in Nyack for his whole life. There, he held the position of grocery space technologist for the corporation. Over the course of 35 years, Peter was a proud member of Jackson Hose #3 and gave his whole devotion to serving the Nyack community. During his service with the fire department, he was promoted to all three line officer positions, served as President and Vice President of Jackson Hose, and was Commissioner of Jackson Hose until 2014.

In addition to his numerous friends and members of his extended family, Peter is survived by his sister Renee and brother-in-law Andrew Schaefer, his brother Frederick and his sister-in-law Jillana, and his sister Jennifer and his brother-in-law Peter Freer. Peter is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

His devoted nieces and nephews, Daniel and Megan Schaefer, Peter, Henry, Olivia Freer, and Briana Sinnott, are also among those who will miss him deeply. On Friday, January 11, pay your respects to the family at Hannemann’s Funeral Home, which is situated in Nyack at 88 South Broadway. Visiting hours are from 5 to 9 p.m. On Friday evening at seven o’clock, members of the Nyack Fire Department will lead a Firematic Service that will be held at the funeral home.

On the 12th of January, a Christian burial service will be placed at St. Ann’s Church, which is located at 16 Jefferson Street in Nyack. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Immediately after the conclusion of the mass, the burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in Peter’s name to The Glen A. Kiser Hospice House, which is located at 1229 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, North Carolina 28144.
