The body of Megan Locklear, who was reported missing on or around January 19, has been identified as having been found by the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to the Lumberton Police Department, on Friday at 12:01 p.m., officers were summoned to the location of McNeill Used Cars at 404 South Chippewa Street, where it was stated that a possible dead body was in a car. When the police came, they discovered what seemed to be a woman who had passed away a few weeks ago.
According to the information provided in the investigation, the female passenger appeared to have fallen asleep while riding in the vehicle and never regained consciousness. The police in Lumberton are currently conducting an investigation to determine how she passed away and the circumstances that surrounded her passing. At this time, the agency is awaiting the completion of the autopsy report.
The investigators have stated that they are working to create a timeline of events beginning with Locklear’s disappearance and ending with the discovery of her remains.
