Mark Sheehan Obituary, The Script Guitarist And Co-founder Dies At The Age Of 46

Mark Sheehan Obituary, Death- Along with the band’s lead vocalist Danny O’Donoghue and drummer Glen Power, Sheehan co-founded the group in Dublin in 2001. Five of the band’s six number-one albums also debuted at the top of the UK album charts. The Irish rock band released a statement stating that the musician passed away in the hospital following a brief illness.

Following a brief illness, Mark Sheehan passed away today in a hospital, the group Tweeted. He was a “much loved husband, father, brother, band mate, and friend.” The family and group beg that their privacy be respected during this difficult time. Sheehan on guitar, his boyhood buddy Danny O’Donoghue as the lead singer, and Glen Power on percussion formed The Script in Dublin in 2001. Sheehan and O’Donoghue, who had been friends since they were both 13 years old, initially moved from Dublin to Los Angeles in order to pursue music careers.

Before returning to Ireland and adding Power to the band, the couple worked in songwriting and production while they were in the US. The Script, their debut album, debuted at number one in the UK and Ireland in 2008, while their first song, “We Cry,” peaked at number 15 in the UK. The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, another track from the album, peaked at number two on the singles charts.

Science And Faith, the group’s second album, was released in 2010 and debuted at number one in the US, the UK, and Ireland. Their third album, #3, was released in 2012 and reached the top of the charts in both Ireland and the UK. No Sound Without Silence, Freedom Child, and Sunsets & Full Moons were the next three albums, all of which peaked at number one on the UK and Irish album charts. They have sold more than 20 million records worldwide, and a number of well-known TV programs, including as EastEnders, Made in Chelsea, and the American comedy-drama 90210, have used their music.

Kodaline, a fellow Irish rock band, paid respect to Sheehan by posting the following message to Twitter: “So sorry to hear the passing of Mark Sheehan. “He was always such a beautiful man, and we were fortunate enough to spend time in his company over the years. The Script brothers and his family deserve our sincere sympathies. Irish musical duo Jedward paid respect to Mark by writing on social media:

Everyone in the Irish music industry and worldwide mourn your loss RIP Mark such a talented musician from The Script one of the most iconic Irish groups of our generation.” Sheehan had three children. With his American wife Rina, he spent the majority of his time there. For over 20 years, the couple was wed. In order to be near his family, Sheehan skipped nearly a full year of engagements in 2021 and early 2022. Later this year, when US pop sensation Pink! is touring Europe, he was supposed to join the group.
