Kathryn Cotton Obituary, Death – The demise of Kathryn Elizabeth Cotton is something that the Cotton family is forced to report with heavy hearts. Katie was her nickname among family, friends, and anybody else who knew and loved her. On Thursday evening, April 6, she passed away quietly while surrounded by members of her family and close friends.
Katie is survived by her children Ethan and Isabelle Mimeles, her life partner Jim Wells, her mother Marie, her siblings LoriAnn, Patty, and Richard, her former husband Michael Mimeles, her nieces and nephews Alayna, Allison, Bryce, Caroline, Danielle, Hannah, Olivia, Phillip, and Sydney, whom she loved deeply and supported relentlessly, as well as her devoted pets, Kona and Jasper. Her father, Philip Cotton, had already passed away when Katie was born. In 1988, she moved from New Jersey to California with the intention of making her impact on the rest of the globe. And that is what she did.
Katie is widely regarded as one of the most impressive women working in public relations and marketing inside the technology industry. She spent the most of her 18-year career working directly for Steve Jobs in her position as Vice President of Worldwide Corporate Communications for Apple Inc. She was a staunch supporter of the company and never wavered in her commitment to it, which contributed to the enhancement of the company’s products and brand. Through her volunteer work in several community organizations after she retired, she spread awareness about the importance of mental health education for youngsters. Katie also turned into an ardent birdwatcher, to the point where she is now able to correctly identify any bird at any given moment.
