Joan Darling Obituary, Death – The Irish branch of the Girls’ Brigade. It is with deep regret that we must inform you that our Vice Patron Joan Darling died away on April 12th, 2023. Her passing came as a big shock to all of us. Joan devoted a significant portion of her life to The Girls’ Brigade Ireland and was a very devoted and committed member of our organization. She served as Captain of the 14th Company, Clontarf Parish, our National Secretary for so many years building new Companies around the County, our National President, and Vice Patron during her time with The Girls’ Brigade Ireland.
Joan passed away on March 30, 2018. All of Joan’s friends and acquaintances in the Girls’ Brigade will miss her tremendously. Joan was a wonderful person. During this terrible time, we would like to extend our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to Joan’s family. A memorial service honoring Joan’s life will be held in Tullow Church in Foxrock on the 23rd of April, 2023 at three o’clock in the afternoon. She was such a nice lady, and we are going to miss her terribly. At this time, my thoughts are with her family, her friends, and the rest of the GB family.
I am so sorry to hear this; Joan was a great lady and a brilliant ambassador for Great Britain; her memory will live on in all of our organizations; we are praising God for her and keeping her family in our prayers. I am truly saddened to hear this news. Joan was a genuine representative of Girls Brigade; she was always ready to offer words of encouragement to both the girls and the leaders in the organization. My condolences go out to all of her family members; may she finally find peace.
