Jerome Oliver Obituary, Jersey City, New Jersey Longtime Native Has Passed Away

Jerome Oliver Obituary, Death – Jerome Oliver was a much-loved member of our family who served as a father, grandpa, and brother. It is with the utmost sorrow that we share the news of his loss. Never in the history of the world could I have imagined being in this position. My family and I are appreciative of all the kind comments, phone calls, and visits you’ve paid us. My brother and his children and grandchildren thought the world of my father.

We ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers as we move forward. May You Ever Find Peace Dad Melinda Butts of Greenville, Doug and Zhiela Oliver of Versailles, and Kevin and Michelle Oliver of Versailles are Jerome Oliver’s surviving children. His grandchildren include Carl and Kristin Butts III, Nathanael and Mandy Butts, Emily and Craig Oliver, Elizabeth and Mike Kniesly, Elijah and Ashley Oliver, Ethan and Chelsea Oliver, David and Janelle Oliver, Derek and Jennifer Oliver, and Devin Oliver. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren

Following his career as a block operator for Penn Central Railroad, Jerome decided to retire. In addition to that, he was the owner of Oliver Trucking in Versailles. Jerome was a participant in many organizations, including the Auxiliary Lake Patrol at Grand Lake St. Marys, the Ansonia First Church of God, and the Greenville Shuffleboard Club.

On Friday, April 20, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., there will be a funeral service performed at the Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles, and Pastor Derek Specht will preside over the ceremony. After the service, burial will take place at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. At the funeral home on both Thursday evening between the hours of 5 and 8 pm, as well as Friday morning between 9:30 and 10:30 am, the family will greet friends.
