Izetta A. Skepeneit Obituary, St. Louis Washington DC Longtime Native Has Passed Away

Izetta A. Skepeneit Obituary, Death – Izetta A. Skepeneit, who was 80 years old and originally from Washington, passed away in New Haven on April 9, 2023. Ms. Skepeneit, whose father, Waldemar Skepeneit, had passed away, and her mother, Mary nee Curran, gave birth to her on July 27, 1942 in the city of St. Louis. She attended classes in the Piedmont Public School system throughout her academic career. One of her major passions in her younger years as an adult was acting as the “Fun Aunt” to her nephews and niece, in addition to going on vacation.

She spent the majority of her afternoons at the Washington Senior Center, where she was a dedicated Bingo player and could be spotted playing the game. Izetta worked at the Mercy Hospital in Washington for more than 40 years until she retired. Her father, Waldemar Skepeneit, her mother, Mary Abrams, and her stepfather, Richard Abrams; her sister, Eloise Young; and two brothers-in-law, James Mann and John Adams all passed away before her.

Her survivors include her three sisters, Phyllis Mann of Eureka, Wilma Adams of Washington, and Joyce Mills and her husband Jerry of Washington; her brother-in-law, Gaylord Young of Washington; her nephews and niece, Jeffrey Mann and wife Jessica, David Mann, Christopher Adams and wife Julie, Matthew Mills, Connie Adams, and Ryan Mills and wife Anais; great-nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a large number of friends.
A memorial ceremony will commence at 11 a.m.  on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, following a visitation that will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. on the same day. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the New Haven Hospice Care, the Washington Senior Center, or the New Haven Care Center.
