Henry Bohne Obituary, Death – Henry Bohne died peacefully at 94 surrounded by his loving family. Loving father to Bill (Linda) and Sandra (Chris). Fred, Annie, Russell, and Eleanor Bohne predeceased. Grandfather to Brittany, Julie, Lauren, Nick, and Avery and Harry. Born in Bassano, Alberta, his family resided in Gem, Hussar, Bassano, and Medicine Hat, where he graduated high school. Dick graduated from Royal Roads and RMC in 1953 with an RCE commission.
After a year with a Field Squadron in Korea, he went to the University of British Columbia and earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1955. He served with the Base Construction Engineers for 35 years at Chilliwack, Whitehorse, Edmonton, Kingston, Halifax, Petawawa, Ottawa, Borden, Lahr, Trenton, and lastly NDHQ in Ottawa. Dick served NATO for 10 years after his military retirement. Dick and Carole spent 30 years between Arizona and Kingston, enjoying life with many rounds of golf and lengthy morning walks.
He valued family time above anything else. Honesty, integrity, humor, and storytelling will be remembered. Dick hummed or sang all day. He led by example, expecting no more from others than from himself. We shall always love him. The family is appreciative to Kingston Health Sciences Centre workers, especially D4 and K10, for their kindness and support. The family said goodbye during a private funeral. A Celebration of Life is scheduled. Donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada can honor Dick.
