Florida shooting – Two other teenagers, ages 12 and 17, were taken into custody and charged in connection with a shooting that took place in Marion County the previous week and resulted in the deaths of three other kids. The shooting took place in the same county as the one that resulted in the deaths of the three other juveniles.
On March 30, it was discovered that a young woman who would eventually be known as Layla Silvernail had been found lying injured on the side of the road. She ultimately lost her battle with life at a healthcare institution. A young man of 17 years old was discovered dead on March 31 from what seemed to be a gunshot wound.
The cause of death was not immediately clear. He was found unconscious on the shoulder of a road not too far from the location where the crime was initially committed. On April 1, the body of a young woman whose name was later determined to be Camille Quarles and who had died as a result of gunshot wounds was discovered within the trunk of a car that had been discovered submerged in a pond.
They are being treated as adults in the legal system. Deputy sheriffs are continuing their search for a male juvenile who is 16 years old and who they believe may have information relevant to the inquiry. Despite the fact that the remains of the three victims were discovered within a few days of one another in various locations inside the Ocklawaha area just outside of Ocala, the investigators believe that all three victims were shot at the same time.
