Deric Kennedy Obituary, Death – Derek Kennedy passed away, and we are very sad to have to inform you of this. We are sorry. He battled cancer for a month before passing on the following day, on April 2, in the peaceful company of loved ones. In the British Columbian village of Fernie, Derek Kennedy was born on February 2, 1981. His parents were Doug and Janet Kennedy, and they resided in the city. He completed his entire education in Fernie and graduated at the top of his class.
Derek worked in a number of jobs until securing his current career as an auto glass specialist at Speedy Auto Glass after moving from Fernie, Alberta, to Calgary, Alberta. Derek was hired due to his wide range of experiences. He has worked there for about ten years, which is a sizable amount of his lifetime. He won a lot of trophies for the national tournament and came in second overall. Derek liked to go swimming, play video games, and attend Comic-Con, but technology was “his thing”! He enjoyed taking part in all of the holiday activities.
Being a big kid at heart, he enjoyed the holidays much, especially Christmas and Halloween. For Halloween, he particularly enjoyed dressing up. He had a fantastic time at home and when he went camping at Lake Koocanusa since he liked feeding the local animals gifts. He enjoyed feeding the neighborhood squirrels and birds. He was grateful for that and found it enjoyable to be with them. He loved being Astrea’s uncle and spent his entire life working to be the finest there ever was.
He will be missed by his parents Doug and Janet, sister Lindsay (Marty), niece Astrea, and his cats Crystal and Max, as well as his best friend and caregiver Stacey Greenway. All of Derek’s relatives—his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins will survive this. His cousins, aunts, and uncles are also mentioned. He will never get to meet his uncles Don and Steve because they died before he was even born. Many people will be forever changed as a result of his demise.
