Dennis East Obituary, Death – Dennis East passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
On July 16, 1955, he entered this world as the son of LeRoy Francis East and Thelma Nadine (Henderson) East in San Diego, California. On July 15, 2015, Dennis wed Lisa G. Purdy in Holiday Shores On The Point, and she is still alive. Dennis’s previous job at Olin Brass was as a crane operator. He also became an arson investigator after serving with the Bethalto Fire Department.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing poker, and he was also a member of the Alton Moose. Dennis will be fondly remembered for his time spent fishing and hunting in the great outdoors. Dennis was an avid motorcyclist and a founding member of both the River City Saints MC and the Bluff City MC. Battocletti of Bethalto, Darla Sauerwein and her partner Kenny Marshall of Wood River, and Diana and Bruce Balke of Edwardsville; five grandkids, Harrison Frasier, Piper Childers, Trinity Roberson, Cori Beckham, and Gemma Beckham; and many more family and friends.
Dennis’s ancestors and a granddaughter, Bella Beckham, have all passed away before him. The Holiday Shores Marina Tiki Hut is located at 100 Elm Dr. in Edwardsville, Illinois 62025, and will host a Celebration of Life service on April 19, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will include cremation. Donations in his memory may be made to the Bethalto Fire Department or the Stray Paws Rescue in O’Fallon, Missouri. The arrangements will be handled by the Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
