David Wheeler Obituary, Death- On Sunday, April 9, 2023, David Anthony Wheeler, also known as Tony and Pa, a resident of Louisburg, passed away. Tony Wheeler was the son of Claude and Eva (Harris) Wheeler. He was born on December 28, 1951, and he graduated from Youngsville High School in 1970. Tony and his family lived in Louisburg, North Carolina.
In the middle of the 1990s, he walked away from a prosperous profession as a Supervisor in the textile sector and retired. After that, he spent the next 30 years of his life earning the nickname “the Crawdad Man” by owning and maintaining a seasonal crawfish farm. This gave him the opportunity to spend time in the great outdoors while also introducing him to individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. Greg and Kristen Wheeler have been blessed with many memories of a kind, humorous, and loving father because Tony and his wife of 25 years, Jackie Newman Wheeler, raised their two children together as a married couple.
Tony’s happiest moments were always the ones in which he was in the kitchen, preparing food for whoever happened to drop by. He enjoyed life to the fullest, especially laughing, joking, and sharing stories, the majority of which were not real – or at least not his version of them. He had a full life. He like to be at home. He had the desire to be at home till the very end, and that’s exactly where he ended up being.
Mike Wheeler, Tony’s brother, as well as his children and grandkids survive him. Greg Wheeler and his daughter-in-law Natalie Wheeler are the parents of his grandsons Raeford and Asher. Kristen Carpenter and her son-in-law Barry Carpenter are the parents of his grandsons Brayden and Chance. A service at the graveside will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m., and guests are welcome to attend. Immediately following the service, Barry and Kristen Carpenter will be receiving guests at their house.
