David Moshier Obituary, Death – After a long and courageous fight with pancreatic cancer, David R. Moshier, age 71, of 4115 South Nine Mile Road, Lot 192, died away on Sunday (April 16, 2023) at his home, surrounded by his beloved family. He was at home. His parents, John A. Moshier and Irene Foster Moshier Pierce, gave birth to him in
Olean on December 22, 1951. He was their son. The wedding took place at the chapel of St. Bonaventure University on June 14, 1975, and Sandra K. Whitmer was the bride. David attended Allegany Central School and graduated with a diploma in 1969. He then went on to St. Bonaventure University and earned a degree in mathematics in 1975. While he worked for Seismograph Service out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, from 1978 through 1986, he and his wife Sandra
made their home in Texas as well as various other states. They relocated back to Allegany in 1987, and he began working as a human resource expert for Cattaraugus County. He held this position until 2004, when he was promoted to director of human resources, a position he held until he retired in June of 2014. David enjoyed working
on hot-rod automobiles and performing woodworking. More lately, David has been interested in jigsaw puzzles and Sudoku problems. In addition, David was a big fan of spending trips with his family to the Outer Banks. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Sandra; two daughters, Penny (Joseph) Everetts of Monroe, North Carolina and
Nikki (Sean) Pratt of Hinsdale, who were his pride and joy; his five grandchildren, Shaelin Everetts, Ryleigh Everetts, Rianna Everetts, Coby Spiller and Casi Pratt; eight brothers and sisters, John (Cindy) It was his father who passed away before him. At the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, which is located at 3128 West State Road in
Olean, visitors will be welcomed from 2:00 to 4:00 and again from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Thursday (April 20, 2023) at eleven in the morning will be the time for the funeral services that will be held at the funeral home. The Reverend Adam Stein will preside over the ceremony. After the funeral, the burial will take place in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
