Bill Bates Obituary, Death – Bill Bates, who was 73 years old and lived in West Elkton, went away in a calm and serene manner on January 28, 2023. On March 31, 1949, he was born in Cincinnati to his late parents, Raymond N. Bates, and Elizabeth G. (Garten) Bates. His parents have now passed away. Bill Bates was predeceased by his wife, Sharon Bates; son, Brian Bates; and brother, Jim Bates in addition to his own parents. His parents passed away first.
He is survived by his son, Billy Bates, who is married to Tracy; his stepson, Mike Christophel; his grandchildren Josh, Joey, Andrea, Brian, Jake, and Emily; his brother, Ray Bates, who is married to Lois; and a large number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Bill was a member of the Class of 1967 at Princeton High School, where he received his diploma. After that, in 1983, he established Tri-Mac Manufacturing in Hamilton, which is a business that is still going strong today.
Bill had a long history of being an active outdoorsman, particularly in the fields of hunting and fishing. He had been elected to the position of mayor of West Elkton at one point. During Elvis Presley’s downtime, he could be heard playing music on the radio while working on his antique vehicles, most of which were 1957 Chevrolet Corvettes. Bill was a Mason in addition to being a member of the Gratis Eagles, and he could frequently be overheard expressing his pride in his family to anyone who would listen to him. Visitation will take place at Bales Funeral Home in Camden on Friday, February 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the funeral service will commence at 1 p.m. on that same day.
