Anthony Tenorio Obituary, Pedestrian Killed In Hit And Run

Anthony Tenorio Obituary, Death- Sheriff’s deputies were called to a report on April 13, 2023, unrelated to the event that happened at SW Kinnaman Road and SW 188th Avenue in Aloha. At 9:20 p.m., just as the deputies were about to wrap up their response to that call, they heard a heavy thud coming from the nearby road.

When deputies arrived, they saw a car speeding away from the area and discovered an elderly man unconscious in a ditch adjacent to the road. Sadly, despite the fact that deputies hurried over and made every effort to provide emergency medical care right away, the person was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was identified as James Jungkeun Park, a man in his eighty-fifth year.

Deputies discovered after further inquiry that Mr. Park had been visiting a relative’s home and was returning to his own adjacent home when he was hit by a car. Other deputies started searching the area for the vehicle and the driver while other deputies were tending to Mr. Park and others were protecting the crime scene. The multi-agency Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) was asked to arrive in order to guide the investigation. Using video from security cameras and information from witnesses, they were able to locate the car. A few blocks away, the car was parked.

Deputies found the driver at his residence, which was close by, a little over 30 minutes after the crash. The person in issue was identified as Anthony Castro Tenorio, 55. The detectives apprehended Tenorio, and they also seized his car as evidence. Detectives detained Tenorio and charged him with second-degree murder, driving under the influence of drugs (restricted substances), and fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run crime.

The police discovered evidence as they conducted their investigation that revealed a separate person, most likely with long blonde hair, may also have suffered injuries in a subsequent crash. The evidence in question and other other investigations have not yet been linked by investigators, according to their findings. As a result, they are searching for any data that may relate to Tenorio or the involved car, a 2005 Ford Explorer in charcoal gray with the license plate number “519 CRU.” If you have any information on this case, kindly get in touch with the Sheriff’s Office at 503-846-2700.
