I didn’t want to have to get ready for a day that I never in a million years expected to see coming. I didn’t want to have to get ready for a day that I never in a million years expected to see arriving. I was hoping I wouldn’t be required to stand up. The reality of life is that it may be bizarre and unforgiving, yet it can also be stunningly beautiful. I am so sorry that I won’t be able to be there for you through everything, but I believe that God wanted you to be with your family right now.
When it comes to the meaning of the name Alex, “defender of humankind” may signify either to guard or to be a warrior. You were brought back to this planet to fight a spiritual battle, to protect us from our own personal demons, and to shed light on our lives in a way that was incomparable to anything we could have imagined at the time.
I am thankful that you were my Light when you were here on Earth, and that you continue to be my Light from beyond the grave. In our thoughts continually and for all eternity. You, Alex Carlisle, have my admiration and gratitude. You will be greatly missed by all of us, and we will continue to feel this way until the day when God summons us to live with him in heaven.
