The accident was caused by a collision between two vehicles and resulted in the victim’s death. Adam McMillian, who is 34 years old and lives in DuPont City, has been identified as the individual who is believed to be responsible for the crime.
The collision took place on April 12 at 4:30 in the am in the Belle neighborhood close to the crossroads where Burning Springs Road and Kanawha Boulevard E. meet. When the collision took occurred, McMillian was in the process of traversing the roadway fairly close to the intersection where it was located. The deputies told us that he had passed away at the scene where they discovered him. It was determined over the course of the investigation that McMillian may have been “under the influence of drugs and inattentive” at the time that the incident took place. This was one of the revelations that came up as a result of the investigation.
This hypothesis, along with a few others, was developed as potential explanations for the data. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies were the ones who informed us of this and shared it with us. They were the ones who gave us this information. McMillian was also accused of disobeying state standards that regulate the procedure that is required to be followed while a pedestrian is crossing a highway, according to the statements that were made by the deputies.
The inquiry led the deputies to the conclusion that the driver had not broken any traffic laws that could have contributed to the accident, nor had they been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. Additionally, the investigation found that the driver had not been speeding at the time of the accident. According to the information that was provided by the KCSO, the person who was operating the vehicle was not hurt in any way as a result of the incident.
